THERE WAS NO QUORUM PRESENT BUT DUE TO THE URGENT ITEMS TO BE CONSIDERED A SITE MEETING TOOK PLACE Decisions to be ratified by Parish council at the Sept Meeting
Jenny Nicholas was appointed orderly from 1/8/06
John Matthews has completed geo-physical survey of cemetery field. It shows a number of circular enclosures with indications of round houses within them.
Late Bronze Age /Romano- British [c. 100 BC to before 200 AD]
A copy of the survey may be viewed in parish office. Vince Russett, county archaeologist is considering any implications for burial. .Further investigation by means of a trench might be possible.
Strawberry line Heritage Trail Access off Ilex Lane
A] Lease. The respective solicitors are now speaking. Our solicitors are preparing a daft lease for 20 years. N. Som Council will meet legal costs
B]] Hedging/Strimming Clerk to contact Andy Mallender to confirm when hedge will be planted . The Parish Council did request pot grown hedging plants
A Community Service team has done strimming of area around new fence and other work in the cemetery area. They should be thanked through Andy Mallender
C] N Som Council is repairing a drain on the strawberry line, which has collapsed
This will go down Ilex Lane across bridge and then into the field .It will not go through Cemetery. The existing pipe in Cemetery will remain in use. Ilex Lane will need to be closed completely for a period of time at the end of the year, possibly over weekends. Costeins will inform all relevant parties and liase with clerk
It is hoped that Bristol Water will install a standpipe line with 2 taps connected to the water supply in Ilex Lane. The existing water supply to the stand pipe across cemetery field will not then be required

Position of a 4th row of cremation stones on 3rd side of area agreed It is hoped to use as much of remaining Triangle as possible
RECOMMENDATION that Gr 211 [ Burial 7/7/06] have a hidden Concrete foundation placed under gravestone. The stone can be placed early in week commencing Dec 11th due to exceptional circumstances & so that relatives can view over the Christmas period
Adjustments need to be made to RHS burial space to improve access for burials
A central entrance to be made in box hedge with additional turf by centre path
Tree on Grave121. No response to letter has been received. Clerk to send a 2nd letter by recorded delivery giving a 2 month dead line stating’ after this time tree would be cut down
Allotments. Parish review sheet 6 completed. Letters to be sent to allotment holders 4, 5A, and 13B
New allotment holder in 2006, 6B, 8A, 13A, modify letter. Hope to see evidence of cultivation shortly,
Clerk to check if N Som Council is a member of Association of Burial Authorities [ABBA]. If so, could the Parish council access ABBA advice re Cemetery extension through N Som membership
