Minutes of the Winscombe and Sandford Play Area and Skate Park Committee On 29th of January 2007

I) Apologies for absence P. Witter

II) Matters arising from the minutes - the brambles have been cut back from the

Acoustic fence at the Skate Park by H. Fountain

      III) Declaration of Interest - none

IV) Public participation - none

      V) Work repairs recommended by the Zurich Inspection Schedule

The set of 4 Wickstead swings at Sandford Play area ; the wire mesh of the safety barrier bas broken away from the ftame at the top end. As advised this should be fixed

VI ) Youth Shelter at Community Centre Playing Field

It was proposed that a quote should be obtained for an all metal David Ogilive Bute Shelter

without back panels and hard standing( concrete?) as well as other firms to replace the Gazebo Proposed C. Sampson. seconded P. Cram

VII) WMRG Area

The Parish Council has been given permission to borrow the extra money needed to put in the new play area which can now start. Sponsors should be sought for the seat with shelter and the frog bin by placing a request on the notice boards. This has been successful in the past

VIll) Skate park

The weekly inspection will include keeping an eye on the cracked weld at ground level on the run off edge nearest the grind rail as recommended in the Zurich report

IX) Sandford Winnowing End

As recommended by Zurich a quote should be obtained to renew the wire mesh fencing at the northern end and to replace the small spring loaded gate. The bramble has been cut down.

A. Forbes proposed that the Health and Safety Officer should be consulted about the

positioning of new cricket nets at the WMRG if they are to be any where near the new play

area. .
