The Winscombe and Sandford Parish Plan
Website Update – 26 August 2010
The Winscombe and Sandford Parish Plan Our Community - Our Future was presented to an extra-ordinary Parish Council meeting on Thursday 12 August 2010. The presentation, by the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Parish Plan Steering Group, covered the aims and strategy of the Group, the work involved in producing the Report and also the content of the Report and Recommendations. The Council unanimously accepted the Report and set up a Parish Plan Implementation Working Group (PPIWG). The Group consists of six members:

Mike Williamson
Gavin Rider
The first three members named above were members of the Parish Plan Steering Group. The last three members are Parish Councillors. The task set for the PPIWG by the Parish Council is to:
(a) Identify the stakeholder(s) in respect of each of the Recommendations in the Report.
(b) Forward a copy of the Report and the Annex to each stakeholder.
(c) Meet with each of the Stakeholders to discuss/negotiate how/when the recommendations could be implemented.
(d) Agree an action plan with each Stakeholder which indicates who, how, when
and what recommendations will be implemented.
(e) Combine individual stakeholder action plans into a single, colour coded plan.
(f) Monitor the implementation of the action plans and
(g) Regularly update the Parish Council and Parishioners on implementation
progress.
The Parish Plan Steering Group has arranged a Public Launch of the Plan ‘Our
Community – Our Future’ at the St. James’ Church Hall in Winscombe on Friday
3rd September 2010 at 7 p.m. The programme for the event is:
1. 7.00 p.m. Assemble – refreshments will be served.
2. 7.30 p.m. The Parish Council Chairman, Archie Forbes will welcome
parishioners and introduce the programme for the evening and
speakers.
3. 7.35 p.m. Peter Blunt, Chairman of the Parish Plan Steering Group will
speak on the Research and Preparation of the Plan.
4. 7.50 p.m. Neville Brenchley, Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the Parish
Plan Steering Group will speak about the Content of the Plan
and its Recommendations.
5. 8.05 p.m. Archie Forbes, Chairman of the Parish Council will speak
about the Council’s acceptance and the strategy for implementing
the Report.
6. 8.15 p.m. Public questions/discussion.
The Parish Plan Report – ‘Our Community – Our Future’ is available for purchase at
Winscombe Post Office, The Parish Council Office, Humphry Motor Company in
Sandford and at the Thursday morning market at the Winscombe Community Centre.
The 34 page Report and Recommendations is available in full colour at £4.50 or with
a coloured cover and black and white inside at £1.50. The 26 page Annex which
provides an in depth Analysis of Residents’ Responses to the Parish Plan
Questionnaire is also available at a cost of £1.
The Report and the Annex can be read on the Parish Council website, the Parish
Council office during opening hours and in the Winscombe Library
