A meeting of the Play Area & Skate Park Committee was held on

Monday 14th December 2009, at 7.30 p.m, The Amesbury Room, Winscombe Community Centre

 

 

Committee Members Present:    Mrs. A Brading (chairman) (ABr), Mr Archie Forbes (AF),

                                                       Mrs V McGann (VM), Mrs A Richmond (AR)  

 

PlayBuilder Representatives:     Tony Moore & Sharon Bradley from North Somerset Council

 

Assistant Clerk:                             Mrs Nina Flint

The Chairman, Mandy Brading welcomed Tony Moore & Sharon Bradley from North Somerset Council and thanked them for attending the meeting.             

 

 

1.             To Receive Apologies for Absence: - Mrs P Cram

 

2.             Declaration of Interest – None Received

 

3.             Update of the minutes of the last meeting, dated 5th October 2009,   already signed at main Parish Council meeting as being a correct record:

There were none other than those included as Agenda Items

 

4.             Public Participation: an opportunity for members of the parish to make a statement –  None

 

5.             PlayBuilder Funding for WMRG & Winnowing End

i              To discuss consultation carried out by North Somerset Council

At this stage The Chairman asked Sharon Bradley to advise the committee of the consultation carried out by North Somerset Council. – see attached paper.

ii             To discuss Play Equipment & Installation suggested by North Somerset Council, Parish Council, Contractors, Manufacturers & Consultees

After much discussion and taking into consideration all the above-mentioned facts the suggested pieces of equipment were as follows:

WMRG – Rodeo Board, Spinner Bowl and Snake Seat  - see attached pictures

Due to the restricted space at the WMRG concern was expressed from the Chairman if there would be enough room for 2 pieces of equipment.  Tony Moore agreed to measure the site involved and advise us accordingly.

Winnowing End – Zip Wire and Fusion Unit – see attached pictures

 iii           To discuss PlayBuilder Funding

The budget for both areas is a total of £40K with more money being spent on Winnowing End in view of its dilapidated condition.   Funding needs to be allocated by end of the financial year – 31/3/10.
