1. To elect a Committee Chairman and to receive the Chairman’s Declaration of Acceptance of Office:
It was resolved that this committee APPROVED Cllr. S Bridges (SB) as Chairman and The Declaration of Acceptance of Office was duly signed and received by the Assistant Clerk.

4. Update of minutes dated 12th April & 15th June 2010

5. Public Participation: A maximum time limit of 15 minutes will be allowed for a session open to the
Public to present comments, observations, information, petitions or lead deputations and is the
only time members of the public may participate during the meeting. Parishioners may submit a
written script of speeches made to the Clerk:

6. Local Government Pension Scheme – presentation by Andrew Brooks & Diane Evans
The Chairman thanked Andrew Brooks from North Somerset Pension Department for taking the time to come and talk to the councillors. Mr Brooks apologised for the absence of his colleague Diane Evans and gave a brief laptop presentation on the Local Government Pension Scheme followed by a question and answer session. He then left the meeting.
7. To discuss LGPS pension scheme/retirement gratuity
Cllr. M Williamson reiterated that discussions regarding the LGPS and retirement gratuities was held in 2008.
The Parish Council approved in April 2009 that a provision was placed in the Parish Clerk’s Self
Invested Personal Pension Plan.. Upon receipt of advice from NALC & HMRC regarding Self-Invested
Personal Pension Plans this course of action is not now possible.
It was resolved that this committee RECOMMEND APPROVAL to the Parish Council that a separate parish council account ring fenced for the future retirement gratuity for the Parish Clerk is opened with the Parish
Council’s Bankers.

It was resolved that this committee RECOMMEND APPROVAL to the Parish Council that, upon receipt of
a signed authority from the Parish Clerk requesting return of the monies invested in the existing Self-Invested Personal Pension Plan, the refunded amount is credited to the separate parish council account ring fenced
for the future retirement gratuity for the Parish Clerk.

It was resolved that this committee RECOMMEND APPROVAL to the Parish Council that the Parish Clerk’s
Contract of employment is amended to reflect the changes

The Finance Assistant is looking into computerised accounts packages which will be discussed at the next
meeting.
